Dollar continues to rise against Libyan dinar in parallel market

The US dollar opened Wednesday's parallel-market session on the front foot against the Libyan dinar, extending its recent upward trend.

In spot transactions at 12:00pm, the dollar traded at 9.26 dinars across the Al-Mashir currency markets in Tripoli, Venezia market in Benghazi, and markets in Zliten and Misrata. Transactions conducted through bank transfers and cheques, however, priced the dollar considerably higher, at 9.50 dinars.
