Libya Economy Journal (LEJ) is an independent Libyan economic news outlet, founded in 2026. LEJ delivers economic news, reports and analysis in English through its interactive website (libyaecojournal.com), and maintains an active presence on social media alongside a range of complementary services for its readers.

This document sets out the editorial principles and professional standards that govern the work of Libya Economy Journal, ensuring the highest achievable standard of good practice in economic journalism.

No promotional material is published disguised as journalistic content. Funding relationships, including with international donors and development partners, carry no editorial control; any support received is disclosed transparently, while editorial decisions remain the sole responsibility of the newsroom. Journalists disclose any personal or financial interest that could reasonably be seen to affect their coverage, and do not report on matters in which they hold such an interest.

5. Accuracy and Verification

Facts, figures, statistics and data, particularly economic and financial figures, are verified against sources whenever possible. The presumption of innocence is upheld; individuals are described as "suspects" until convicted by a competent court, and their identities are withheld except where public safety requires otherwise. Coverage of persons with disabilities avoids stereotypes or pity-driven language and represents their own voices directly wherever possible.
