Abukhazam sworn in as Central Bank governor

Fawzi Abukhazam took the constitutional oath as governor of the Central Bank of Libya before the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The ceremony was attended by members of the House and Central Bank officials.

The oath follows the House’s formal election of Abukhazam as governor, with 78 votes at a session held in Sabha. He had been serving in an interim capacity since 22 October, when the Speaker tasked him with performing the governor’s duties after accepting the resignation of the previous governor, Naji Issa.
