Economy minister represents Libya at Arab League economic council session

Economy and Trade Minister Suhail Abu Shiha represented Libya at the 118th regular session of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, held from 30 August to 3 September 2026.

The session addressed a number of priority economic, social and development issues, including support for the Palestinian economy, strengthening Arab economic cooperation, food security, and digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Discussions also covered sustainable financing and progress towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, alongside updates on the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the Arab Customs Union.
